History

Beginning over 30 years ago with 240 people, the Marco Island Easter Sunrise service is now the largest, 1 hour event on the island with the 2019 attendance estimated to be 10,000.

The sunrise service, normally held on Marco’s beautiful 6-mile crescent beach, is a city-wide celebration of Easter. Numerous pastors from almost every Marco Island church have participated in the service.

Through the years, the service has featured soloists from island churches, as well as the Marco Island Concert Choir (40 voices), the Naples Jazz Band, and Lely High School Jazz Band. Flute, trumpet, and saxophone solos, trios and quartets, as well as professional musicians from around the country have participated in what has become a joyful Easter celebration hosted by the community for our island residents and our guests from around the world.the service with nearly every Christian church in the area involved.
